Basic Keelboat Sailing Course

3 Days; live aboard.
 
Class size: Two students; this allows for continuous activity as each student takes turns at the helmsman and trimmer positions.


General Description: Basic Keelboat Sailing (ASA-101) is a sailing course designed for students with little or no prior sailing experience. This course covers the fundamental skill's necessary to sail and maneuver a keelboat of 25-30 feet in length in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. It is daylight only with no night sailing. The course includes training in Rules of the Road and Federal Equipment requirements and tying some of the more useful knots. This course is also accredited by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and qualifies for those states that require such training for operator licenses.
