More: Life (and death) in a 'gun-free zone'
This was posted on 25 January by the crew at HeyJackass. It's not hard to imagine the frustration that the police in Chicago are experiencing when they have to go to work in this environment.
It was on this date four years ago that we launched an idea based on the “Chicago values” we were told so much about during that violent, Chick-fil-A chicken sammich-infused summer of 2012. Since we were never told exactly what those values were, we assumed that it must be murder, crime and mayhem.
Since then we’ve recorded over 2,200 homicides, nearly 11,000 shot and wounded, dozens and dozens of “death investigations” along with hundreds of people who caught one in the ass.
As always, thanks to everyone who has visited, emailed, followed, linked, liked and donated helping make this idea a very minor success.
Here’s to four more years.

This is exactly what you get when you combine a culture with a political regime that are each lacking in moral values. It's this kind of social climate that makes the (law-abiding) citizen's right to keep and bear arms invaluable.

History, then and now
"And Now"
One of my all-time favorite television series was "Victory at Sea." Each episode opened with that hauntingly memorable musical score by Richard Rogers, followed by those two words, spoken by narrator Leonard Graves.
There was a time when the TV network’s produced more wholesome and patriotic programming; the conservative values that inspired that programming have suffered from insidious erosion over the years.
And now… The Battle for The Supreme Court.

'Gun-free Zones'
[Esteban Santiago] got on a plane in Alaska flying from Alaska to Minnesota. In Minnesota he changed planes and flew from that state to Fort Lauderdale. Once he landed in Fort Lauderdale, he got the gun that he had checked in his baggage, went into a bathroom in the airport and loaded the gun, and then he came out of the bathroom, walking among fellow passengers until he eventually decided to fire the gun. Then he let loose 10 to 15 rounds of his weapon, killing five people in cold blood and wounding another six.
This whole incident bears the appearance of being planned and calculated.
But it is still unclear why he came to South Florida to do it.
A logical presumption would be that Santiago knew that the Fort Lauderdale airport is a gun-free zone. Gun-free zones are potential killing fields. It is a well established fact that murderer's looking for a high body count and very little, if any, resistance purposely select gun-free zones. The reasoning is obvious.
These days, gun-free zones are good places to stay out of.

Justice
'Fast and Furious' Scandal
Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz has reissued a subpoena to Attorney General Loretta Lynch regarding the Obama Justice Department's deadly Fast and Furious scandal.
I don't expect to see Loretta Lynch doing anything different at this late date. This serves notice that the investigation won't be going away with the new administration, but we will see some progress, and just maybe the family of Brian Terry will see closure to the case after more than six years.

Life in a 'Gun-free Zone'
A preliminary report indicates that there were 4,378 shootings in Chicago during the year 2016; 795 of them were fatal.
Undeniable evidence that outlaws don't obey the law!
Happy New Year!
