"Too pissed off to be diplomatic"

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke placed blame for the execution of Harris County deputy Darren Goforth squarely upon President Barack Obama and former Attorney General Eric Holder. The  Sheriff said that Obama and Holder laid the groundwork for "this war on police" by supporting 'activists' who have disparaged law enforcement based upon a set of lies.

Black Sheriff says exactly WHO is to blame for “open season on police”

With Friday’s horrific, execution-style murder of a sheriff’s deputy in Texas as just the most recent example, it’s hard not to feel it’s truly become open season on law enforcement...

The first black president had a unique chance to further bridge both the racial divide and that between the black community and law enforcement. Yet, under President Barack Obama, we’ve only seen both these divides not only widen, but just about explode wide open. At times like this, when our nation sometimes feels like a powder keg ready to ignite at any moment, we need a true leader in the White House. Where is the president, calling for a stop to this hate and madness? He’s come out to defend the likes of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown — how about the nation’s men and women in blue, too? Shows exactly which lives our president believes matter and which, not so much.

Race relations in this country have been set back a half-century by the current administration, and it's refreshing to see people starting to stand up for the truth.

Teamwork

Making it look easy

During Thursday night’s matchup between the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, the Mets turned a play that is not seen every day.

With two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, Phillies outfielder Jeff Francoeur grounded a ball up the middle, which kicked off the foot of Mets pitcher Carlos Torres over near first baseman Daniel Murphy, who dove for the ball and then no-look tossed the ball back to Torres, who ran over to cover first to make the close out.

Call it luck if you want, but situational awareness, keen reflexes, good teamwork execution, now, that's poetry in motion — and 'pleasing to watch' baseball!

Constitution Repealed! News at 11 (10 Central)

Virginia is for lovers, says the website!

The Roanoke Valley is conveniently located off Interstate 81 and the Blue Ridge Parkway at the southern tip of the Shenandoah Valley. Surrounded by scenic beauty, the Roanoke region is a perfect destination for visitors wanting a little of everything in a Blue Ridge mountain getaway. Experience our railroad heritage, take in the arts and culture, shop, eat and enjoy the wealth of outdoor recreation in the heart of our breathtaking mountains.

The people of Roanoke Valley get to watch, live, as a documented evil nut case carries out the pre-meditated (as in planned) murder of two human beings, and that triggers (no pun intended) a mad rush by some politicians to blame the event on our constitutionally guaranteed freedom. We are told that "WDBJ, a television station in Roanoke, Va., station executives and rank-and-file employees were deeply concerned about [the murderer's] conduct" prior to the shooting.

The fact that freedom and responsibility go hand-in-hand seems to be beyond the grasp of several political misfits who want to use this event to push their version of an anti-American agenda.

This event exemplifies the reason, and the need, for every citizen to have the tools necessary to protect themselves from nut-cases like the one in this case!

A most clear, and level-headed, synopsis comes from Milwaukee County, WI Sheriff David Clarke:

Most aggravating is the way unscrupulous politicians manipulate the grief stricken families of the victims in order to push their agenda.

When was the last time that you heard of a local school board proposing a class in firearms safety and responsibility?

Nelson's Requisites

Back in the heyday of the traveling circus, wild animal trainer's like Clyde Beatty and Bert Nelson were well known for mixing lions and tigers, natural enemy's, side-by-side in their circus act. Some would bring as many as sixteen or seventeen big cats into the ring at the same time to 'perform' tricks for the audience. After one of his performances, Nelson was asked about the key to his success; he replied, "the two prime requisites of an animal trainer are patience, and the ability to run like hell."

Unfortunately, our capacity for Nelson's requisites diminish as we age. We tend to get more impatient as the years go by — and running, well that is out of the question.

Incidentally, I'm thinking that 'discernment' could be a vital third requisite to Nelson's other two.

Here we go again!

Wednesday  at the White House briefing press secretary Josh Earnest used the tragic live broadcasted murders of 24-year-old reporter Alison Parker and cameraman 27 year-old Adam Ward by a disgruntled former news reporter identified as Vester Lee Flanigan to call for “common sense” gun control.

I can personally attest to the fact that the NRA has been teaching "common sense gun control" as far back as, and beyond, the day that I joined that organization over an half-century ago.

It's "common sense" that drives voluntary compliance with our existing laws; and there are plenty of existing laws already on the books that cover the circumstances surrounding this recent murder. Common sense outlaw control is what we need.

Outlaws have no sense in common with anything but selfish greed. The best that can be done is to have as many law-abiding citizen's prepared to deal with the outlaws amongst us as possible.

Common sense reveals that, and we're working on it!

Generic Service Pistol's

Yet another 1911 — but wait!

3 CZ1911

For anyone who may be slightly put off by the glut of 1911 variant's on the market nowadays, here is something that ought to perk you up a little. Not an authentic replica, but close, with some "improvements"... And made in the USA!

2015 brings the launch of the first pistol made in the USA that bears the CZ name. The CZ 1911 A1 is an homage to the past, a 5” government sized model built as a modern incarnation of the original 1911 A1. That original was adopted into US service in 1924, ‘improving’ on John Moses Browning’s original design. Our version makes several small ‘improvements’ as well, swapping the checkered plastic grips for checkered walnut, adding serrated slide stop, magazine catch and mainspring housing and using a stainless steel barrel. For the sake of the shooter, we elected to forgo the lanyard loop, and added a taller set of sights that are easier to use, with the front dovetailed in so that it can be swapped more easily. Though there are a number of changes, we feel the CZ 1911 is still true enough to the original service pistol to wear the A1 name.

Built with much tighter slide-to-barrel and slide-to-frame tolerances than vintage models, the result is much improved accuracy without compromising reliability. Built without a trigger safety, the trigger itself is aluminum, with pull specified at 5 lbs., give or take a pound. Its forged carbon steel frame and slide are finished in a black oxide and it ships with two 7-round magazines.

MSRP: $849.

Mental Health & Safety

Crisis Intervention

According to Kevin Robinson, writing for pnj.com:

A recent University of South Florida study found that of the nearly 172,000 people who were involuntarily introduced to Florida’s mental healthcare system in 2013, more that half of them were admitted through contact with law enforcement....

Lt. Patrick Vega of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office said most of the time when people reach out to law enforcement concerning someone with a mental illness, it’s because the situation has already reached a point of crisis. The individual is usually out of control — posing a threat to themselves or others — and often not in a state of mind to comply with traditional law enforcement commands.

Think about that a moment; in 2013, in the state of Florida alone, there were almost 500 people a day involuntarily "introduced" to the state's mental healthcare system, and "most" of them were already "out of control" and had "reached a point of crisis."

The fact is that there are not enough police on patrol at any given time to deal with the extremity of the situation. So, who is it that is most likely to wind up having to deal with a nut case that is "out of control" and has "reached a point of crisis?"

Citizen, are you prepared to resolve a situation where you must deal with someone who isn't the least bit inhibited in killing you or your family?

The “universal background check”

mediaislying

What the media is really saying is: "my rights are important — your's, not so much."

Half the media doesn’t even know it’s deceiving you when it talks about so-called “universal background check” bills. The other half knows it’s lying.

They know this code phrase means a national gun-transfer ban, plus universal gun registration — total government control over all guns held privately in America.

Without total registration, universal background checks don’t work. A comprehensive gun-owner list is the whole point of getting falsely reported “background bills” passed. One man — multi-billionaire former NYC mayor Mike Bloomberg — is pushing the bills and funding operations, with shell corporations, hired hands, advertising, federal cooperation and mountains of his cash.

His goal is to make you subject to arrest if you hold someone else’s gun — a “gun transfer” — with or without a sale, like he just snuck through in Washington State. Sounds impossible but it’s stone-cold true. He did that by deceiving the public with a $10 million false advertising campaign. He told the public one thing, for a law that did something else. When people found out, after they passed it, they were furious. Too late.

The so-called "universal background check" is a trojan horse aimed at destroying one of the oldest civil rights that we have in this country — the right to keep and bear arms.

A friendly wag of the tail for Alan Korwin.

Signs

On Thursday, August 13, 2015 D.C. police chief Cathy Lanier said “So far this year 10 people involved in homicide have had prior homicide charges. Ten.”

Let that statement sink in for a moment...

Washington D.C. is well known for its strict gun laws and high homicide counts. The year 1990 had 474 homicides, making Washington’s murder rate the highest in the nation. Cathy Lanier's comment brings to mind the famous quote attributed to former D.C. Mayor Marion Barry who, when asked about D.C.'s high crime rate, was reported to have said “If you take out the killings, Washington actually has a very very low crime rate.”

Is the problem really guns? Is the answer to having too many felons on the street to penalize the law-abiding citizens and deny them their civil right to bear arms and defend themselves?

Is it any wonder that people are getting fed up with moronic politicians — and arming themselves?

Civil Rights and The Law

NIXA, Mo. - Customers at a restaurant say an unexpected guest in a nearby booth was unappetizing and downright scary... "We had just gotten our meal and in walks this lady and man, and the lady had [a] snake around her neck at first, and it started to slither off of her neck down into the booth behind her," said Lisa Loeffelholz...the woman holding the snake handed it across the table to the man.. It was allowed to stay through dinner because the man wearing the snake called it his service animal.

In an era where environmental pollution is being replaced with institutional pollution, I'm not surprised when someone insists that their pet snake is a "service animal." But we are still a nation of laws, and there is a law that applies to service animals. The law requires that a service animal be a DOG. The reason is that dog's are unique in their ability to provide the kind of assistance that people need to overcome the loss of one of their senses, or their mobility. Not only is a dog naturally suited for this, but they can be trained to do it unobtrusively.

But, the real irony in this 'snake case' lies within the following statement:

"Management didn't know what to do, because they didn't want to violate anybody's rights....

How many times have we seen various restaurant's around the country violate a citizen's civil right to bear arms by posting a "gun free zone" sign on their door.

If only all restaurants were as concerned with their customers' rights as the one in Nixa, Mo.

Reality is what it is

I'm not a fan of pig wrestling, but a person needs to realize that when they voluntarily enter a wrestling ring, they may very well wind up wrestling — or being wrestled.

Salt Lake City:   Pig wrestling has been common at the [Utah County] fair for a number of years...

A small group of activists disguised themselves as wrestlers to get into the ring and then revealed their real goal, to speak out against the event because they say it is animal cruelty.

outyougo

One of the impostor-protesters wound up on his rump, and now......

Some of the protesters tell FOX 13 News they intend to pursue charges against those who pushed them from the ring.

As the old saying goes, "life is tough; it's a lot tougher when you're stupid!"

Government and trivia

Has anyone ever noticed?

Anyone else old enough to remember the old black and white TV show “I Led Three Lives” that ran 1953-1956? The show was loosely based on the life of Herbert Philbrick (Richard Carlson), a Boston advertising executive who infiltrated the U.S. Communist Party on behalf of the FBI in the 1940’s. The "three lives" in the title were Philbrick's everyday life role as a white-collar worker, his secret life as a Communist agent, and his even more secret life as an FBI operative helping foil Communist plots.

During secret communist "cell" meetings, Philbrick would attend the meeting as a faux participant and gather intelligence information for the FBI, thereby allowing the FBI to foil the various "schemes" that the cell had cooked up. The plot lines followed the same pattern, episode after episode, but got more and more far fetched near the end of the show’s run. But, the good guy’s always ended up rounding up the bad guy’s — all the way to the last episode...

In 1960, when Bob Newhart recorded his popular LP (remember those?) “The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart”, one of Newhart's many monologue skits involved the old “Three Lives” show. The imaginary scene was supposed to be a communist cell meeting where the cell ‘leader” asked the group the obligatory “are there any questions", one guy raised his hand and asked:

Which brings me to my question; has anyone ever noticed that when the government gets involved in a "clean up", we wind up with a big mess?

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said that a cleanup team was working with heavy equipment Wednesday to secure an entrance to the Gold King Mine. Workers instead released an estimated 1 million gallons of mine waste into Cement Creek, which flows into the Animas River.

UPDATE: The EPA has now released new figures, and its now 3 million gallons of toxic wastewater and climbing

Life in A "Genesis 3 World"

Here’s an example of the reasoning behind the need for NICS — to hopefully prevent nut cases like Louis Farrakhan from wreaking havoc on society. In this video, he puts out a call for 10,000 hit men. Farrakhan seems to be lathered up about slavery, which happens to have ended in this country 150 years ago! Apparently, he hasn’t gotten the word yet.

The daily news serves as a report card revealing how successful things like NICS and “gun-free zones” are at interdicting thugs, which, in turn, serves as an example of the reasoning behind the Second Amendment….

Are there any questions?

Gun-free Zones

'Wishful Thinking' equals 'Not Thinking'

Enough people have died at the hands of armed thugs in "gun-free zones" that you would think that everyone would be able to see that believing in the 'gun-free zone' concept amounts to pure delusion. More and more 'law-abiding' citizens who value their lives, and the lives of their loved ones, have vowed to ignore all gun-free zone placards unless everyone entering the area is being physically and/or electronically searched; only then can an innocent person be reasonably sure that they will not need a gun for self defense. I would add that the owner/manager of the so-marked area should assume legal responsibility for the safety of all who enter their 'no-guns' zone.

The nonsense was carried to the extreme recently when a member of our "armed forces" was charged with being armed in one of these imaginary gun-free zones.

A Navy officer and Marine reportedly returned fire at the shooter who killed five service members in Chattanooga, Tenn., even though current policy does not permit military members to carry firearms on facilities such as those where the attack occurred.

The cold-blooded assault killed four Marines and one active-duty Navy reservist. The center’s commanding officer, Lt. Cmdr. Timothy White, used his personal firearm to engage the shooter during the attack, according to sources quoted in the Navy Times.

I can confirm that the United States Navy is bringing charges against Lt. Cmdr Timothy White for illegally discharging a firearm on federal property.

Injustice carried to the extreme for the sake of political correctness!
