The Focal Point of Good Friday
Those of us who champion our United States Constitution often refer to words and phrases found in the Declaration of Independence. For example, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights. that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”
Understanding the truth of the fact that these “rights” do not come from government, but from our “Creator” brings us to the realization of why it is the “pursuit of Happiness” and not just happiness that is particularized in The Declaration, for it is while freely pursuing happiness that one can discover Joy.
