Gun Control

Dealing with Evil

Here we go again, another display of evil, and the headline reads “Top Texas Republicans resist gun control….” The term “gun control” has become both a political pejorative and a rallying cry.

Just what is gun control? Put simply, gun control is the ability of society to control guns. Since we live in a free society that relies on the voluntary compliance with its law’s, the law itself has effectively zero power in binding the conscious of the law-breaker; law’s mean nothing to some people. You would think, by now, everyone would be able to see that.

Regarding the protection of our school’s from incarnate evil, there was a movement toward strategic intercession following the event at Newtown, CT. What happened to that movement? I suspect that part of the problem is that law-abiding citizen’s naturally tend to not dwell on the unconscionable. It’s time to institute some life saving policy. It’s time to overcome the trepidation of timid school administrator’s. It’s time for some “gun control” that effectively solves the problem of armed miscreants. To paraphrase one of the nearby Florida Sheriff’s, “… the recidivism rate for attempted-murderer’s that were shot and killed in the act is zero.” Not to mention lives saved in the process. All it takes is the will to implement the program. I think that there are plenty of volunteers available who are willing to tie the bell on the cat—and regain control.
