Gun Safety and the NRA
The article referenced below illustrates the kind of stuff that is particularly troubling; it’s a result of how the NRA leadership has been doing business for the last several years.
There was a period of time when academia, along with many others in the United States, considered the NRA as ‘the authority’ on guns—and especially as an authority on gun safety. But, that is apparently no longer the case—thanks in large part to the greed and misconduct of NRA officials.
“The White House wants to enlist school officials to help hoodwink parents about its gun control plans, according to a statement issued last week.
The reason is simple: They want to take advantage of the officials’ credibility, which the White House lacks, especially when it comes to guns.
Teachers and administrators, the White House said in the statement, “can be trusted, credible messengers when it comes to providing guidance on gun violence prevention and safe firearm storage options.”
The new program, which is one of three executive orders Joe Biden issued last week, will be spearheaded by Jill Biden, White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention Director Stefanie Feldman and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona.”
Eddie Eagle has effectively had his feathers plucked in a New York civil trial, while hopelessly trying to mitigate a sizable stack of well-documented charges against a gaggle of NRA official’s and cronies; hopefully, he won’t get his wings permanently clipped…
The National Rifle Association is an American institution dating back to 1871, and there are still a very large number of NRA rank and file members within the organization that adhere to the original ideals. We are counting on the court to help provide effective remedy—and reformation of the NRA to its former noble status.
The outcome of this fiasco remains vague at this time. Stay tuned.
