Hoplophobia
I suppose that it is a good thing that we live in a society where the psychoanalysts outnumber the psychos, but I try to stay away from both groups. It's easy to get caught in the crossfire though.
Years ago, Col Jeff Cooper put some thought into why there are people that exhibit a fear of guns. The process led to his coining the word "hoplophobia."
Now, Alan Korwin has picked up the baton and, along with Dr. Bruce Eimer, is working on a new book about the affliction.
