Jibing

When sailing in high wind, everyone likes to have the wind at their back; sailing downwind is much more enjoyable, and usually a lot dryer, than beating your way upwind. But, sailing downwind comes with the cost of increased vigilance on the part of the helmsman. An accidental jibe can be catastrophic when the tailwind is high……

Trying this without a skilled main-sheet trimmer or a boom brake could be very expensive:
